Lighting of the Cressets | Fourth of July at Colonial Williamsburg

Join us on the historic Duke of Gloucester Street for a fan-favorite tradition, the Lighting of the Cressets, as we bring our 18th-century streets to life at night with strolling musicians.

Parking near the Historic Area is recommended. If you plan to park at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center, please check the bus schedule.

In celebration of our nation’s birth, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is offering free admission to the Historic Area on July 4 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Explore guided sites, see historic trades in action, and enjoy staged performances throughout the Historic Area and in the Hennage Auditorium at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg.
